National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal has invited applications for admission into Ph.D Programs in various departments. Interested candidates can apply online through institute website (www.nitw.ac.in) before May 1, 2015. Here we are providing the department list, application fee, Eligibility criteria and how to apply online for NIT warangal PhD program 2015.

The Ph.D. Programs, in Full-time and Part-time modes, are offered in the following Departments:

1. Civil Engineering2. Electrical Engineering3. Mechanical Engineering

7. Computer Science and Engineering8. Biotechnology9. Physics

Application Fees: Rs 1000/-(Rs. 500/- in the case of SC/ST candidates)

How to Apply:

  • The filled-in applications along with necessary documents and a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- in the case of SC/ST candidates) towards Registration fee, drawn in favour of The Director, National Institute of Technology, Warangal, payable at SBH, NIT Warangal branch (Code No. 20149) or SBI, Battala Bazar (Code No. 07456) should reach Associate Dean (Admissions), Academic Section, National Institute of Technology, Warangal 506 004 on or before 01.05.2015
  • Super scribe on the envelope “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO PH.D. IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ___________________”
  • D. PROGRAM ON FULL-TIME BASIS IN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTS

Eligibility criteria:A candidate is eligible if he fulfills the following mentioned conditions:

  • First Class with not less than 60% aggregate (or) not less than 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale in Tech. or B.E. or Equivalent degree in any branch of Engineering & Technology and
  • First Class with not less than 60% aggregate (or) not less than 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale in Tech. or M.E. in relevant specialization (Subjects 1-8 in above table).
  • Category-wise (OBC, SC, ST, PWD) reservations on overall available seats will be followed as per Government of India norms.
  • In the case of SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria for all Departments is Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate.

  • D. PROGRAM ON FULL-TIME BASIS IN SCIENCE & HUMANITIES DEPARTMENTS

Eligibility criteria: A candidate is eligible if he fulfills the following mentioned conditions:

  • Sc. and M.Sc. / M.Phil. in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate.

or

Any Undergraduate degree (BA / B.Com / BSc) and M.A. / M.Phil. in English or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in aggregate.

  • Candidates with valid GATE / NET scores only, are eligible for admission to D program in Science Departments / Humanities and Social Sciences. Selected candidates are eligible for institute fellowship as per MHRD norms
  • In the case of SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria for all Departments is Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate.

(C) Ph.D. PROGRAM ON FULL-TIME BASIS IN SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT

Eligibility Criteria:

  • First class B.E. / B Tech in any branch of engineering with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate and First class MBA with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate along with valid examination score in CAT/MAT/NET or
  • Any first class graduate with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate and First class MBA with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate along with valid UGC (JRF/NET) score.
  • Candidates with a valid GATE / NET score only are eligible for the award of institute fellowship.
